RE: Hunting Boots
All my hunting boots I go with Gore-tex for the water-proofing keeping the boys dry.
For early season Pheasants walking I have non-insulated Cabelas with a toe that wears longer going through a lot of coarse grass.
For cold weather, I have Irish Setter 1000 gram Thinsulate with an oil finish outer leather I like. With a good pair of Mohair goat hair socks from the "Goat Lady" in Harmony MN, my toes stay nice and toasty even in real cold weather.
