Do you guys have any suggestions for a plot to put on an old logging trail as a fall/winter attractor plot. It is in the woods so there is not direct sunlight. I was thinking oats/wheat/some sort of Brassica dwarf rape or turnips. Any suggestion or tips would be greatly appreciated. I live in Western Missouri just North of Kansas City.
4-6 hours of good sunlight is what should be aimed for as a minimum. 4-6 of so-so light can be workable.
Before suggesting what to plant, what are your soil sample results? As well, what method do you want to use? Are you planning on using hand implements?
I'm not sure of your weather there, so check suggested planting dates (check whitetail institute, or biologic, tecomate, etc.) for a better picture of how much time you have left. That'll be a big factor in what you can do at this point too.
Keep in mind that brassica's should be planted and in good germination state at least 30 days before your first frost. I like to hit the 40-45 day window if weather conditions allow.
