Hey man fill me in on your hunting areas. There is so much great hunting here in Ohio. It sounds as if you just need to change up some things and get setup in some new areas. Let me know what and where you have access to and we can go from there.

This is kinda a long story -

My parents own some land (15 acres) that I hunt on about 5 miles from me. On the North border is a State conservatory that is off limits, on the East is a Sand/Gravel pit that is off limits, on the West is more private land. It is on this land that gets hunted by about 50 people who shoot anything and everything come deer season. They've been caught in the conservatory, in the gravel pit - everywhere. When one gets caught, that guy just becomes the "pusher" for the rest of them. Come shotgun season it sounds like people are shooting skeet in the woods. It can get a little hairy at times...So I've started talking to the other farmers and such around town - however they've already given permission to another group of hunters - yup thats right - the same group that is beside by parents place. I've must have gone to 10 different places before I gave up in frustration. My grandparents used to own some land in Sistersville, WV so we could go hunt there and the OH land was just used for recreation - however, they have since sold the land and moved to the coast, so now we are stuck. I normally would always hunt with my father, and he is set against hunting public land, so growing up I've always been against it too - although for no reason other than its what I've always been told - so maybe I should try it. In fact, my best friend just started hunting, this will be his 3rd year. I'm proud to say I got him started and he just picked up his first bow earlier this year (he had been using a crossbow). We both hunt my parents land, and in 2 years, he's seen only 1 deer while hunting...
