Default RE: A question for R.S.B.

ORIGINAL: Sylvan

I think my credibility is just fine though I also think it is getting easier all the time to find which ones fit the profile of the radicals.
R.S.B.,
When WCO's begin posting their views on the internet it's also pretty easy to see which ones are the wild life professionals and which ones fit the profile of "bad apple". If you truly want to improve the image of the PGC you really should just quit posting. Leave the pr to the professionals. I'm afraid you are really bad at it. I believe it was Twain who said, "It's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt". Take his advice!
I am sure the radicals and maybe even some that aren’t radicals would like for me to quit posting since it probably spoils their game of spreading lies and misinformation without being called on it. I can’t correct their hatred but I can provide some facts that help debunk some of their misinformation, lies and propaganda.

As for if I am don’t more good or harm; I suspect it doing some good with the multitudes of people that read message boards but rarely post. I have long known that I am not going to change the minds of radicals since they don’t typically function in the realms of reasonable and logical discussion. But, they aren’t the ones I am trying to reach with my message. I am just trying to present the other side of the story and some actual facts for those masses and majorities capable of recognizing and formulating reasonable and rational thought used to develop a logical conclusion. Besides when it comes right down to it there are only a handful or so of the radicals even posting and spreading their lies, misinformation and general hate on this site. The problem is there are only a few people with the guts to take a stand against them because they don’t want to deal with a gang of radicals.

I frequently have people tell me that I am wasting my time in a pi$$ing contest with skunks. But, I don’t see it that way, though I certainly would agree about avoiding pi$$ing contests.

The way I see it is that sometimes you are going to have to deal with skunks and sometimes they will hit you with their stink whether you were in their pi$$ing contest or not. If they make the stink all around you and you do nothing to clean it up then it isn’t long until you stink just like they do. If you smell like a skunk and do nothing to clean it up people soon start to think you are a skunk, even when you aren’t. Just look at the platform these radicals had until a couple of more rational people came on board and started challenging their misinformation.

I think the majority of the people that read this stuff do have the capacity for logical thinking. Therefore, I have no intentions of allowing radicals to rule the day with lies and misinformation as long as I can muster the time and energy to combat their nonsense.

As for those that are worried about being labeled as a radical or a liar or something they don’t like; well about all I can say is if that shoe fits wear it and if it doesn’t fit then leave it alone, it isn’t yours to wear when it doesn’t fit.

Besides, you folks probably will not have to put up with me all that much since I will be getting busier as the fall progresses. I will be too busy trying to protect the wildlife resources that still mean I lot to me, even if they don’t mean as much to some of those posting on message boards.

As for the comment concerning if I really am a WCO; well that isn’t too hard to check out since I always sign off with my real name. I have been a Game Warden for a bit over 29 years now.

I do apologize though that my writing skills aren’t what some of you would expect, but then I am a Game Warden not a journalist. I also admit that I don’t always have the time to proof read everything I post, so you will find lot of mistakes.
