Is a 4 door F350 4X4 lifted 8 inches, w/ 40-inch tires and a modified 700hp/1000 ft lb turbo diesel too much?
Maybe never taken into the mud, but even on paved roads. It will get ya where you're going right? Not very comfortable. Not very efficient. And hard on the body and wallet.
I can see no practical reason to use that on a "little" whitetail deer. Elk? OK - I can go for that. Moose? Yup. A big old grizzly? Sure.
There will be some meat damage with the 300. My absolute favorite cartridge for any kind of North American big game, hands down is the good old .30-06. It can do it all with the wonderful variety of ammo out there.
But then again, there are people who just have to have the latest "toys", whether there is an actual need for them or not.
