Default RE: IBO & Hunters

Keith,
Thanks for the reply. I had already read the IBO mission statement. I wanted to hear it from some of the IBO staff, in their owne words...

Gene,
I have been an IBO member for several years. I understand the IBO is more than 3-D shoots but the shoots seem to get most of the attention. Bowhunting World magazine does a fair job of communicating other IBO aspects concerning hunting. Seems that most peopleperceive the IBO as a tournament archeryorganization and not so much a hunting oganization.

The reason I asked my original questions is due to the constant criticism of the Hunter Class. I hear too many people complain about the class. Lots of people say it is too big &has too many shooters. Yes I do shoot the Hunter Class. I was a member before HC was adopted. I use to shoot MBR and probably will again. I can remember when lotsof people wouldn't think about shooting a 3-D because of the long yardage. Nowmany of those samepeople are avid 3-D shooters in the HC. Some think it is only for beginners, just a place to start until you get better. Seems to me, and many others, this iswhat the IBOoriginally wasall about. Hunters shooting in the Hunter Class...I think we need more members regardless of the class they compete in.

I understand there are many other classes. That's great! Let's all not forget why the IBO was founded....HUNTING. The tournaments are just anotherfacet of the IBO. I enjoy shooting 3-D's and hunting. I started shooting 3-D's to become a better hunter...probably like most people.

Hope to see you at a 3-D.
Scott
