I hunt north of Hayward, Wisconsin and I always love to have about 3 to 4 inches of snow on the ground, you can see them better, much easier to track when you hit one (if he doesn't go down right away) and much , much easier to drag out with a little of the white lubricant on the ground !!!!
Too much snow however can be a bad thing. Just trying to walk or dragging a deer out in anything more than 6" of snow gets difficult.
