Unit 84 has some great elk but being at the right spot at the right time is always the hand thrown out at you lol. 140 supposedly is one of the best places to hunt elk and i belive it. The only thing is, Most of it is private land except James john wildlife center. They only allow 10 hunters per year to hunt the area. its stiff draw. Ive hunted 84 a couple years for deer and seen some very nice elk. a big 7x7. I had an elk tag one year and a muzzleloader. I couldnt get into range so we went home with only a deer in the cooler. Next year we will be going back up there. If you want to hunt 84 you need either horses or 4 wheeler and lots of patience. Best time for elk is around 10am or so and catch them moving back up thru thick timber. Cow calls work great up there.
