It was Lloyd Mcm who had the run ins with the law, not Russell Thornberry.
I believe Lloyd started out as a good outfitter/guide and ran afowl of the law. I knew a fellow who did some guiding and he said there was a lot of "temptation" to bend the rules. He said that rich hunters who had already payed big $ for a hunt would sometimes push a wad of bills accross the table an say "I really, reallywant to go home with a BIG trophy, if you know what I mean,(wink)". After awhile bending the rules would become easier and breaking the law would follow. I am not saying this is OK, just that I understand how it could happen.
