Well this is a good question, I choose my rifles cause I like Ruger and Browning. I choose the caliburs for different reasons. Like I got my .220 swift cause it has ans still is the most compared to varmit round on the market. I chose the .243 for me and my 14 year old daughter to shoot together. I choose my .270 wsm to replace my .270 win just cause it was new had to try it.Now I love that round in my browning a-bolt.I choose my .300 win mag in my ruger m77 to shoot with my brother cause he has a bar in that cartridge.I got my RSRH .44 mag just to hunt with. I got my 45/70's just love that old friend I cant stop shooting it, Marlin lever, & Buffalo classic. I dont own a shot gun I just dont bird hunt. I also built my 6.5x284 to practice shooting long range ,I am trying to get into competitive shooting . Its alot harder then it looks. I have a rem 597 .22 mag ( stop laughing at me ) for just plinking. I sold 5 more that I wish I had back but oh well !!!!
