Does this mean that the projectile might splatter when it hits a deer for instance? I am guessing that this might be handgun ammo with a rating that low. So maybe this would not make a good hunting load?
I think it would be fine. Sure its faster than its designed for, but think about it like this. A round ball has no jacket at all and it holds together at 10 yards with a heavy load (close to the velocity of the XTP). The XTP has superior Sectional Density and should also pass through. At close range I suspect that the weight retention may suffer, but I think it would still perform its job well.
