What do you think a 2000 pound animal is going to do....just roll over when hit? Maybe if you get a spine shot or both shoulders but come on...the damn thing is the largest animal on this continent. There is nothing...repeat nothing....that a 450 can do that a 45-70 can't. especially if you handload. Take a 400 plus grain hardcast bullet and throw it a close to 2000 fps and it'll zip through a buffalo no problem. Besides I wasn't around 130 years ago to talk to any old fur hunters to get their opinion on what they think worked or not.......now all i have to do is listen to full of sh-t gunwriters who have been rehashing the same stories for 130 years.....with 130 years of someone else's spin on it.
