I too am in the 500 grain class. The arrowsare barely moving ata snails pace;250 something fps....If I can't get clean through an elk perhaps it will tip him over .

I used to kill those wimpy whitetails with a sling shot and some grapes . Light isn't an issue with them unless you really goof up.
