Well... with my 777/Permatex results anyways. I forgot, you were using real black. I doubt you needed any solvent with that blackpowder ... did ya???
Actually yes I did. I gave the rifle the usual hot water bath with a little Spic & Span in it. The patches looked clean. But I ran a Birchwood Casey #77 patch down the bore and it came up real dark gray. So I ended up running three of them until they finally came clean. After that I ran an isopropyl alcohol patch and a couple dry ones before the Birchwood Casey Sheath. Of course I was shooting Goex and also did shoot a lot of the Moosemilk patches at the end of the day.
