I worked for Reg. 6 DEC and we were up in that area every once in a while doing netting. We didn't actually net the lake itself, but we netted the numerous small trout ponds around it. I know there is some good smallmouth fishing in stillwater reservoir and it also has some splake in it. You might wanna try some topwater lures early in the day and late close to dark for bass. Watch out because the lake it very shallow in spots. A map would be a good investment if there is a map of the lake. Look on the Reg. 6 NYS DEC webpage and you might be able to find one on there. Also, the campsites and numerous lean two's around the lake are great. Free camping. You just have to sign out what number camp site you want and go camp there after you check in with the Ranger.
