From Mike from Texas:
My buddy has a SIG 229 in 40 cal. and to me it feels like it recoils more than my XD45.
The Sigs have a much higher bore axis than many other pistols like XD's and Glocks. The higher bore axis makes the gun's muzzle flip up more with each shot. This is not necessarily a bad thing as it tends to make the flip straight up and then straight back down as long as you are using a firm grip. When the bore axis is very low to the hand, more of the force comes straight back adn depending on your grip can make the gun do the hula which delays getting back on target for a follow up shot.
Pros and cons to both. Personal decision.
