I have seen deer killed with a 22 lr, so I don't think 20 ga would be too light.
I hate it when I hear about people hunting a deer with a 22LR, to me, it's just unethical.

I won't open the ethics can of worms, but22 lris illegal in every state that I know of.I was just making a point that if 22lr will do the deal; a 20 ga is plenty gun.
