I just started hunting with a recurve this year. I made up my mind at the beginning of the season that I would hunt with my recurve this year and leave my compound in the case. I live in Alabama where we have 46 days of either sex season with a gun. I knew I could get one to eat with a gun if I had to. I killed my first deer ever with traditional equipment on November 1st. It was a doe. Right after the shot, I got so shook that I had to sit down. My knees turned to jelly. It had been a long time since that happened. I have practiced enough this year that I ought to be a great shot, but I am just average. It worked out for me though. Don't give up guys.
