Nothing wrong with shooting a deer at close range (within 15 -20 yds) with a .45acp. I've done it on does using cor-bon ammo and it did the trick. You hit them in the heart and lungs and they'll go down.
I mostly carry mine with me when rifle hunting and, if the opportunity comes up, may want to use my .45.
