I think they are afraid the bolt will get slammed back excessively if you use the really slow stuff. You would think with Varget that it wouldn't cycle correctly. I have been told by the Browning factory as well as Nosler to use the midrange powder. Just call Nosler on their 800 number and tell them the situation and I am betting they say to use a midrange powder.
