Davidmil, your an idiot. Thats the dumbest comment i have ever heard. So you dont care about your heard health thats fine with me i understand, but dont bash my ideas just because your lazy. It takes work and i will put the work into it. Your just like alot of the neighbors around here. "I shoot the little bucks cause i dont ever see a trophy book buck", i wonder why. Maybe because your shooting the bucks that could become 130 inch bucks. Its common sense. As for the high fence, i like to hunt fair chase, and hunt deer that are harder to kill. I am not one to hunt in a high fence area just so i can kill a book deer. That might be your thing but not mine. Happy Hunting

First off, davidmil mis correct, anyone can raise deer like livestock, its not rocket science.

What happens is that these livestock deer are passed off as wild deer - and its intentional becuase no one is really proud of a farmed deer.

Therein lies the problem. And don't pretend you're doing all this for the "health of the herd" you most certainly are not. You are doing it all so you can shoot bigger bucks.

My answer to this question is no, it does not corrupt hunting. People trying to shoot big bucks by illegal and unethical means does corrupt it

I agree with a lot of what you said. I'm sure you agree with me that "trophy buck" is relative to the weapon you choose, the are you hunt etc etc. Its a term that can be used widley - trophy.

Is the 190" buck I killed on a 20 acre "preserve" the same trophy as that 160" buck you chased on WI public land for 3 years ?

I don't think so - I don't think ANYONE would think so.

But dont tell me my opinion is wrong and to go build a high fence

You're not wrong. Everyone has a right to farm livestock, but it angus bulls, peacocks, or whitetails.

But there is a difference. And you know there is a difference or you wouldn't spend so much time doing it.

not everyone can aford to go on hunts out of theri area where they can get big bucks.

Okay, so what ? Hunt "your" area and bag the biggest buck around and be tickled pink with your trophy.

Thing is ........ many people are NOT tickled with that. They want to have bucks bigger than anyone elses - its greed, bragging rights, horn porn.

Has bowhunting been corrupted, Naw I dont think it has.

Define "corrupted" - I think by the definition it has been.

Want me to prove it ?

I shot a 210 typical in KS last fall that will threaten the world record. If I posted a picture of this buck, and how I killed it, no one would believe me, the KDFW would confiscate it pending an investigation and my name and my family would be drug through the mud in my attempts to prove it 100% legal and just.

If it had been a 140" buck no one would care.

Why would the above be true if hunting has come so far and to such a point that ANY really big buck is doubted from the moment its posted ?

Because bowhunting and hunting in general HAS been corrupted, hasn't it ?
