RE: Is the obsession to shoot big bucks corrupting bowhunting?
Really, Any buck that I have taken and will ever take is a trophy. It may not be a "shooter" buck or a "trophy" buck to anybody else but it is to me. I was the one out in the field with my bow or gun and it is the memory of the hunt that makes that buck or even a doe a trophy. Everybody has to just stop worrying about trying to get the biggest buck and go back to what made us all start hunting- the thrill of the hunt.Lots of peoplethese days seem to get ticked off if they aren't seeing huge bucks and aren't shooting trophy bucks. When you are in the woods just think of the first time you shot a deer and remember the feeling that you got. That is what hunting is really about, not just shooting monster bucks and making records.
