Default RE: slugs

Like Paul said, you'll never really know what your gun shoots well or best until you just about try them all.

Paul sez his H&R only shoots the 3" Brenneke Golds ok and mine shoots them well.

I have seen good accuracy from the BuckHammers from both smooth and rifled barrels. Actually I haven't seen really anyone get bad results from them yet. I've seen bad shooters, but seems their groups are OK, just not contered.

Another I will ALWAYS recommend trying and usually shoots well is the old standard Brenneke with the felt "wad" actually screwed to the back of the slug. Brenneke has alot of offerings, all high quality, but look before you buy. I'm talking about the only one with the felt wad, the rest are plastic.

Another good one from Brenneke is the 2-3/4" heavy field magnum.

But it would be foolish to not start out and see what happens with good old Remington sluggers or Winchesters. Because they can usually be had at $2/box or even $1.49.

Good luck and here's to a sore shoulder.
