Thanks guys, he is a tank.
Squirrel, I zoomed in the photo and looked at the spot you circled. There is a red spot on the deer but it is way to bright to be blood, there is also a bright blue spot above that so I am pretty sure it was just something that the camera did.
James, that is a massive drop-tine, dang, looks like a baseball bat
This buck lives on my property where I can hunt him, last year was nearly impossible though because he lives in a large patch of brush that you can't hunt in because its too thick, you have to belly crawl to get through it. Last year this brush was surrounded by corn so he could go anywhere he wanted without being seen. This year though, we cut a few lanes out of the brush and planted them in some BioLogic and there is no corn surrounding the brush, it is all soy-beans. I have a pretty good idea of what he is doing and where he is staying, hopefully he keeps his pattern going till archery season.
As far as the drop-tine, I zoomed in two pics and the more I look at it, the less I am sure it is a drop tine.
In this pic, you can see where it appears that the "drop" tine is just the G-3 that has folded down on the inside of the main beam. You can see a color differance in the velvet on the main beam that makes it appear to be just a broken tine.
In this picture though, it appears that the broken tine is comming down the inside of the main beam, but it also appears that there is a drop-tine in front of it as well.
