Well, I made it out shooting again this morning. Got to the shooting site at 6:30 and it was 74 degrees. When we left at 10:00, it was 94. It ultimately got up to 106 to 109 depending on which thermometer I looked at. Anyway, my wife's aunt and uncle are here from Germany visiting. Deiter jumped at the chance to go shooting as the opportunities to shoot in Germany are very limited.
We took my U-M that has a Lyman peep sight and my dad's new U-M with stock sights. I just got it for him and haven't had a chance to get it to him yet.
We shot both guns quite a few times, just alternating shooting the same target. Both guns were shooting good for me, but Dieter didn't haveso much luckl. He kept saying farkartzen or something like that which I think he told me means he missed it or there is nothing there. He does speak very good english by the way.
Anyway, I got my dad's gun tuned in and we shot some at 50 yards. It did very well, although I didn't shoot any groups to take pictures of. I shot one group at 50 yards with my gun. This was with the Bull Shop 460s.
I then shot moved my target back to 100 yards and tweeked the sight up just a little. Here are the results.
Then didn't change the sights and shot a group with the Bull Shop 500s. I don't remember pulling the one high, but I assume that was operator error. I have just shot toomany now without a flier, also looking at Cayugad's results, so I take credit for a bad shot.
As you can see, we also did a little shooting with the 10-22. Mine was from a rest, on this last target. Dieter shot offhand and his is on the other picture.
All in all I was extremely happy with the U-M's. Oh, forget to mention. I swabbed my gun once while we were shooting, probably after 10 shots,3-4 shots prior to me shooting the above groups. I could feel a little crud buildup during seating at that point. I WAS NOT using any wad this trip. I think ona fowled barrel the .504 Bullshops are fine. They are too loose for me on a clean barrel. I have some .5045's coming and will post how they load after I receive them.
Back to being happy. As normal, I was just shooting with a bag under the front of the forestock off the hood of my Suburban. I did switch the insert out on the peep sight to the more open aperature. I like it much, much better than the real small one. I don't think I will ever use the real small one again. At some point, I will do some shooting without any insert in. I think this is the way I will shoot it during hunting.
Hey sabotloader, go ahead and ask the dumb questions, we understand.

Actually, I have had the same concern. Next time out. I will take a clean barrel and fire a squib load prior to loading the .504s. If I have the .5045s, I will try it on a clean barrel and then also after a squib load. I found out last week, that I can not use a wad card with the .504s for hunting. Basically it acts like a swab andloading the bullet on a clean barrel after inseting the wad.
I'm sure I will think of something else later.
