Default RE: Throw the drunk off the dream season show

I guess kshunter said what I was trying to say in my earlier post, but didn't come across right.
Lone Wolf, I wasn't trying to offend you by what I was saying, but it seems like you kind of took offense to it. Sorry about that. I wasn't trying to come across as some holier than thou guy. I know that people like to drink in deer camp, at ball games, ESPECIALLY at the Nascar races I go to, etc. I don't drink anymore, I quit several years ago. But man I used too!! When I was stil partying, I did drink after hunts and on fishing trips, but I never ever entered the woods drunk or stll half drunk from the night before.
Even though I no longer drink, I guarentee you that I am not one of those that preaches against anyone who does Everyone has a choice. It just isn't for me anymore. But I have alot of good friends who still do. No problem here. But I won't go hunting with any of them if they have been. That is just my choice.
What I was trying to say, is that , as we all know, Hunters are on attack from all sides. It issad, butthe general view by the non hunting public is that weare a bunch of beer guzzling, redneck slobs. All you have to do is see how we are represented in movies, comercials, cartoons etc. Unfortunately, that is our label.
Now look at how we all got excited over the WHA and how it would affect us and our image. So we all spoke out about it.
Now, I feel the same way about the drunk, loudmouth slob image that we have. And to me, the Penn. guy on Dream Seasonjust adds fuel to the fire. I know that we as hardcore hunters just look at him as an idiot, and we probably all know that guy or may even have that guy in our deer camp. I know that I have been in many places with those guys.
I was just really suprised that the Drurys allowed that image of hunting camp to be portrayed that way, because they are definitely very concerend about the image,an example of that is how they are very adamant about getting the point across that they hunt 100% fair chase 100% of the time. I was just dissapointed that they chose to show that part of the show.
Whoknows, maybe they did something about itand made a point to show their displeasure in that way of representing the hunting image in the upcoming show or shows. I guess that we will find out.
Man, I know that having some drinks goes hand in hand with alot of things Believe me, I did my share of that in my younger years. I in no way am trying to get down on anyone for that ata ll. And if that is how I came across, I am sorry about that. Lone Wolf, That is all I meant. Sorry if that offended you, that wasn't my intent at all.
I just feel like kshunter. I love the hunting life so much that I hate to see it tainted in anyway bout a select few idiots that put it in a bad light. As he said, the hunting shows do have a standard that they should live up to. Man, I hate the thought of a hunting show turning in to Jerry Springer. Although I will admit, I would have loved to see the other Penn. guy crack the drunk dude in the jaw!! Uh..... off camera of course
