Turkeys are vocal animals. They will communicate less during the fall because it isn't mating season. But they will still vocalize to others in the flock. They have a desire to maintain contact within their flock, so calls work but tactics are different. Yelps, purrs, clucks, and assembly calls are the name of the game. If you find a flock and can bust them up, you'll improve your odds if you can get in the middle and give assembly calls. There are some very knowledgable folks on here when it comes to fall hunting.
