Default RE: Donations for the poor bowhunter foundation....

Hmmm... that's kind of an interesting thought... Some sort of exchage program through pro shops or maybe a web site to help interested folks who otherwise might not be able to afford equipment... A good friend of mine who wasn't raised in the woods so to speak, would really like to get into bowhunting, but he waits tables for a living supporting a family of 3 going on 4(with no government assistance BTW).
If the bow shop would offer, maybe a rental service, or buy and sell some cheap used stuff- and advertise it, so people who don't go there normally would know about it- I've got plenty of friends who like me, are interested in bowhunting but aren't going to go spend $500 just to try it out and see if they like it, unlike me, they won't go do the research, find out what to look for in a bow, check out a few at ebay, ask some questions, make a few bids until one goes through... Actually, when I tried that a year ago nothing came through. I'd about lost interest due to the prices when I stumbled across one the pawn shop couldn't sell, being lefty! So it lasted long enough for me to catch the bug, it broke, I got lucky this time and ebay worked out.
It would also help keep people already involved in bowhunting,no chance to lose interest while they save up for a nicer bow. Of course, dealers would have a heckuva time selling those $1200 and up bows, if there was a cheaper alternative...
