A loop doesn't have to change your draw length. It may/probably change your anchor though. Also you can play around with a hook release and release length adjustments to minimize that. As far as adding weight, compared to usually a couple nocks and a cushion button that is used off the string, theyweigh FAR more than a little string loop.
I had been hesitant all these years, but finally switched last year and ain't looking back.
