Twoof those probably will be big enough to be "shooters" for me, at least one will. We manage the land by shooting only Does and Bucks that are wider than the ears.
The general rule our group uses is "only shoot a buck you are going to have mounted". If you need meat, shoot all of the does you care to. By letting the bucks get older we see much nicer racks. By thinning out the does it helps with the nutrition of the overall herd.
Younger hunters are encouraged to shoot any deer for there first.
These are guidlines our group uses and everyone has their own way to manage their herd.
So in a nutshell, a shooter is a buck I will have mounted.
