Default Halloween 8pt pics

Well , he's not my biggest by far but I was running out of hunting time this year so I told myself before I went out on Halloween that if I seen this guy again I was going to take him. I got in my stand about 2:30pm on Halloween. I was in my stand about 45 minutes when I caught movement to my right roughly 35 yards away. He was feeding on acorns and slowly moving my way. After grabbing my bow , standing up and getting in position , the buck headed in a different direction than I thought he would , but it still brought him broadside at 10 yards or so. Instead of trying to move my feet to turn around , I just pivoted my waist so it looked like I was shooting backwards. My only draw opportunity was an oak tree about two feet in diameter. I was concerned about that but the second his head was behind it I drew my bow (probably the fastest I've ever drawn). All was cool , he didn't hear me or see me , he just kept heading for his scrape. When he was 10 yards directly broadside I gave him a maaaa! and he stopped perfectly. I hit him in the front shoulder (broke his leg) , it knocked him down , he got up and ran into two trees before piling up 20 yards from where I shot him.
Consider my $5 for the mod cup a donation But I'm happy!
