Default RE: New to PLOTTING.. Upper Penninsula of Michigan.

ORIGINAL: Mathewsboy I live in western upper Penninsula of MI and was wondering what would be the easiest and best thing to plant in a remote area. what is my best bet? Thanks
Your best bet is to visit http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/and visit the wildlife or habitat forum. Bunch of guys doing food plot up there and getting very good at it. the basics are
[ul][*]soil test[*]Lime[*]spray roundup[*]Lime[*]fertilize[*]Lime[*]disk[*]plant[/ul]
Begining plantings include buckwheat for summer, winter rye for fall. Once soil quality improves switching to clovers, winter wheat, brassicas.
