here's my suggestion. If you can find a good area by water, play the wind and then use the water to prevent the big mature deer from getting downwind of you. Took a very nice 10 point yesterday a.m that way. He tried to get down wind of my doe bleat call, couldn't so he came straight in. 6 yards into the heart. I use scent killer to shower and the spray. I even smoke on stand. As ong as you play the wind. It's harder on the ground on those days when the wind isn't in a constant direction. I hunt my stand only on days the wind blows from the north. I also agree to use a large tree to hide your movement during draw. Good luck!
