The furthest you should be shooting is as far as you can consistantly hit what you aim at with the smallest margin of error , a good bow hunter always strives to get as close to his target as possible to reduce the chance of wounding the animal . Pull 70# easily ? Ain't no such thing son , and 70# is also not necessary to take down deer size game . I'm shooting a 50# recurve at age 46 , so you're already pulling enough to get the job done . Look around at the 70# shooters over 35 that you know , odds are that most of them have some shoulder problems , don't be in a hurry to join them . Pull what you can comfortably shoot and consistantly take down your quarry , there ain't no heroes in the emergency room .
