I agree that the hogs will probably destroy it , unless you can keep them out you might be better off planting nut trees such as hazelnut and beech and wait for them to start shedding nuts . If persimmon will grow there it would be well worth the effort , look for a warmer climate cultivar . Hazelnut and beech will also attract turkey and tons of squirrels . Apple trees are another consideration . I'd also put in decoy feed stations at the furthest corner of the property to keep the hogs occupied , shoot as many as you can once they are .
