Cowboy loads will invariable have less recoil than other stuff as the velocity is less than 1000 f/s.
Most 44 mags travel less than 1000fps standard.. 44 mag rifles are not big on recoil.. I honestly find it hard to believe she cant stand the recoil... Has she ever shot a 243?

did you look into the 35rem lever action?

Yes. I let her shoot my 35 whelen with hand loaded 250 grain grand slams and I think that has ruined her for life...

the 44 specials worked great, less than a 22 recoil. I am really impressed with the consistency of the marlin 44 magnum. It shoots nice and seems like a well built solid inexpensive rifle.
