I just purchased 18" LaCrosse AIG 1200 rubber boots,and love them.These too have the strong rubber odor,and at first I was afraid it would sppok deer.Getting them only days before I started hunting I had no choice but to wear them from the box to the woods.Within 15 minutes on my stand,a six point walked directly down wind from me and never spooked.Minutes after that two fawns ate acorns under my stand for nearly 30 minutes,and again never spooked.The next day,an old doe was munching acorns under my stand,and kept looking up at me.I though she smelled them,but then realized she wanted the apples she thought she smelled.I hand two ripe apple scent waffer from my bow limbs for cover scent.She actually raised up on her hinds legs and began licking the air while staring right at me!Back to the subject,there were a few more instances of deer under my stand,and not once did they seem to mind the FireStone in the tree.
