Default RE: Shotgun stock help

Good gun fit is very important with a shotgun. While it maybe temtping just to cut the stock down yourself I would reccomend that you take to a gunsmith(preferably one that deals with shotgun sports) and let him/her take it from there. They will know how much if anything needs to be done and most likely do a better job. I am not saying you can not do it...if you are good with wood and have the tools to do it, by all mean go for it. If you are cutting the stock down you will be able to use the existing recoil pad/butt plate, you will just have to gring it down. I do all my own stock work now but if memory serves me right a top of the line recoil pad and install should be under $100. Kick-EEz, Pachmayr, Limbsaver, Hi-Viz, Trap Dude all make excelent pads.....much better than factory types.

Hope this helps......I know alot of folks that think it's not worth the money but in the long run it's money well spent.
