Default RE: Swiss K31 7.5x55

ORIGINAL: statjunk

Hey Guys,

I just bought myself a new rifle, a K31. I shot this rifle at the shooting range and I just fell in love with it. What a nice trigger and the action was smooth and efficient.

Does anyone know A) Where can I get a copper brush for it and B) Where is the best place to get cheap ammo for it?

Thanks Tom
Tom, despite being called a "7.5mm", the K31's bore diameter is .308", just like all U.S. so-called "30 caliber" cartridges! So any gun shop or even Walmart sporing goods dept., should have .30 caliber bore brushes.

The only way to get "cheap" ammo is to buy a bunch of 7.5mm Swiss cases with Boxer primer pocketss, and load it yourself. But as it uses standard .308" diameter bullets, any .30 caliber bullets can be used to load for it, including U.S. military M2 150-grain ball and 7.62X51 (308 WIN) 147-grain FMJBT bullets, which are often sold quite cheaply.

The cases aren't cheap, but you can use them practically forever, if you keep the loads at a reasonable level......
