RE: Rut in Missouri?
You need to be out in the woods now. The rut is just getting started and a lot of bucks are out checking around for does that are coming in early. I saw a nice eight point the other night and he was checking every doe he saw. I usually have better luck in the early rut when the bucks are checking does. When the rut really gets fired up the bucks will find a doe or two and stay with them till they are bred. This leads to all your big bucks laid up in a thicket with a doe for much of the day. Hopefully I will get a shot on a nice buck sometime this week. I've had some shots at smaller bucks, but I like to leave them for the years to come.
