Default RE: How to Bench a Muzzle Loader ??????

ORIGINAL: early

my question has ta do with sandbag placement

is damage to the stock a consideration as towhere bags are placed?????????

should the forearm bags be directly beneath the the keyway/wedge attachment ???????????????? or don't it matter ?????????????

I sandbad (rice bag actually) the forearm stock of the rifle. Never rest the rifle on the barrel of the rifle. Especially if the barrel is free floating like the black diamond and some of the bedded rifles. It will effect your accuracy. Then it is nice to have another sandbag or something, on the butt stock where you can rest it there and just lay your head on it.

Lately I've been doing all my shooting off one sandbag under the forearmto make sure that I can shoot from just the one rest. It is the same way I shoot from a blind.
