Dnk........Kinda bet that pic is not of someone using a carbon off of a crossbow, unless he a candidate for the Darwin award, "probably" off a compound and you said you use carbons off a compound.Soooo where does that leave you???????...............Once in my shop I had a customer using Nitro Stingers(junk) and the front sight was not tight and slid down, resulting in a collision with the arrow, arrow broke in half the rear half entering the(left) forearm and exited the wrist(sorry no pics) too busy trying to save his life when he took out 4ins of the artery......Wish all my deer bled that bad..........................Still have not answered why Easton does not guarantee their alums to stay straight???????And when was the last time you shot 10 deer with the same arrow??????? There is only "one real arrow " and that is the GOLD TIP(STRAIGHTNESS .001 weight tolerence+or-2grs)
Where does that leave me? Humm guess Darwin wasn't yapping about me because I check my carbons before shooting. I know you didn't think about that so I thought I should let you know. Yes we had one person here have a carbon come apart on the shot from his xbow. Have you ever heard of an aluniunm having the spine shot out of it or coming apart on the shot? Guess not. Nope my last XX78 was as straight as a pin when I destroyed it in a Robin Hood. I don't know of any manufacuterer to guarantee the longevity of their shaft's spine. What toilet did you get that one from and whats with the fetish with keeping track of how many deer you shot with one shaft? I would think a gaget guy like yourself would be quite the opposite. BTW sounds like you are bashing carbons how, might be some bi-polar thing happening here. Sooooooo tell me what difference I'll see between your Gold tip and an XX78 when I wack a deer? Oh thats it my shot will be a thou off center! I have complete confidence in my equipment which you obviously do not. Otherwise you would not grasp at every bit of imagined advantage to attain the confidence level that I already have. Its practically a sin to tell guys like Mike that his hunting is inferior because he cannot or will not afford more expensive equipment. He is superior to you because he is a successfull hunter with basic tools and he enjoys the hunt not the gagetry. Hunting is about the hunt not the equipment and shooting is about breathing, trigger control etc. Yes some knowledge about equipment is important. I own quite a lot of techie junk but I am getting bored with most of it and and I am enjoying the hunt more and more as I get older. I have nothing against you and all your suggestion but I do think some of the others that are just starting should be guided towards learning the basics of hunting and shooting rather than fancy equipment. You sound like you have lots of experience in hunting and shooting, why not help them with the basics?
Jaygail, please don't take my "shots" at you personally. Its all meant in a harmless way. I think its ok to disagree and to agree to disagree.
