I don't think Savage makes a 223 with a detachable box magazine.

Here are you choices:

Tikka T3
Browning A-Bolt
Ruger M77MKII - not a detachable box magazine, but at least you can dump the shells out of the bottle instead of cycling them all thru.
Savage - JUNK sorry hardcore - couldn't resist [8D]

These are out of your price range that you stated, and there is a kit out there to convert Rem 700s to a detachable mag, but it is spendy, like $230 spendy.

May want to check into a Howa and Weatherby Vanguards. They might be a lil closer to your price range.

As far as the new "Mauser" by Remington - I read a review on them in this months Shooting Times and it wasn't exactly a MOA gun.
