I forgot to mention but that is a sweet looking hawken and as you said it looks like it did its job. Where did you get the brass ramrod?? I have been looking for one also.
I've bought most of mine from October Country...solid brass from end to end...nothing to break or pull loose when out hunting...the extra weight helps my accuracy, and on the Hawken at least, the brass blends right in with the brass furniture...have them on all my Hawkens
