RE: NO. of times brass can be reloaded
IF you clean your brass and IF you trim it to proper OAL and IF you inspect each case for cracks and splits, you can reload many, many times. The pressure on the case, headspace, the quality of the case and the amount of resizing neccessary all help determine case life. Each time the case expands and you sqeeze it back to specs you weaken the case.
I have .222 Rems that have been reloaded at least 10 times (low C.U.P.). I have seen some factory shells split in the neck in a gun with too large headspace.
Don't forget to mic the neck thickness. In many cartridges the brass flows forward to the neck making the expansion and resizing even harder on the case and shortening case life.
