i have never strayed from this practice, but i still end up buying trolling motor batteries every other year to year and a half, but that is some pretty serious charge and discharge = lotsa fishin

I usually fish about once a week ..maybe twice. I'm lazy and leave it in a hidden storage I made for my battery right in the boat. The night before I need it I put it on trickle charge. I was told though to ONLY use distilled water.which I will .Anyway my 60.00 yellow battery from Walart gives me about 16 months. Then I just simply switch it free for anew one.No questions asked. I usually buy an 18 month free replacement battery.
