Default RE: What to expect at 3D tournaments?

Ducsauce.....I just shoot in my first 3D last Saturday. It WAS a blast and I loved it. The first target off the bat was an Elk on the other side of a raveen, about 40 yards and it looked like 100!! I was just happy to hit the darn thing! The few problems my husband and I had....due to lack of experience....were not knowing where the kill spot was on some of the targets and not having binoculars to see the kill spots. I went to the archery shop yesterday and got a target card which shows all of the McKenzie and Delta targets and their kill spots. I understand some 3D shoots don't allow binoculars or range finders, so be sure to check. Also tick spray and a towel if it's humid where you are.
Good luck and have fun.
There's another one this Sunday about an hour from here I'm hoping to go to if I can get the hubby to go. By the way......smoked him....I got 355 out of 480 possible and he got 289.
Good luck...Diann
