It’s really a messy, sticky and gross thing for me to do. I usually do some begging for my buddies to do it for me. I will compensate them quite well afterwards.
I dont think anyone really likes to do it, but it has to be done. IT IS PART OF THE HUNT. i think if you cant stomach field dressing a deer then you might want to rethink killing one.


for some tips to field dressing, the only thing i can think of is use a smaller knife, such as a buck mini alpha. i have found that when using a smaller knife you can have more precision as to what your cutting. If you do it right you should be able to get all the inards out in one sac, saving yourself most of the mess. once that is done just make sure you get the asophogus cut out. As much of it as you can, dont be affraid to get your arms in there. cut out the a$$hole and get it in the truck. And make sure you get the poison glands cut out before your buddies get them.
