RE: Burris or Leupold???
Thanks guys for the advice, I did a lot of checking out the stats and such on some scopes, and like some of you said,, The Rifleman isnt up to par with the rest of Leupolds scopes, it seems to be an entry level scope to compete with other cheaper brands. I was going to get the Burris so I could get the package deal, and they were on sale, but when I got there, they were all out of the packages, and they wanted 30 bucks more for the scope without the binos then the packages were seling for,, So I went ahead and got the Leupold Vx II in the 4-12x40. It was more than I wanted to spend, but is clear and like everyone said, I should put a good scope on the rifle. It is all set up it is a Remington 700 EtronX chambered in .243, with Leupold dual dovetail mounts.Remington didnt have much luck selling them so the price has dropped very low and they are giving a free case of ammo with it, thats a $120 value. They are selling for much less than regular stainless fluted target rifles and can be converted to firing pin bolt. I also found out that the EtronX riflles are built in Remingtons Custom Shop, and it shows, it is a real shooter. Thanks again for making me think before I bought a scope that I wouldnt be satisfied with.
