How funny.. I know Lanny real well. He used to work for my dad ( A former Olympic Gold Medal Winner too) at our rifle range in Dallas. When my dad retired from shooting he hooked up Lanny with some guns and scopes. He also gave him lessons, and pointed him in the right direction.
Lanny grew up a few blocks from me in Euless Texas.. His dad was my barber and he and I played guitars together. Lanny is about five years older than I.
His thinking process is certainly one of winning.. I had that pounded into me by my dad when I started shooting competition. Even today as I shoot each arrow my dad's words pound in my mind..
When Lanny won the gold in Germany in 1972 he tied with Margret Murdock. She was a good friend of our family too. My dad at one time was the best in the world and was the man to beat.
Lanny was the first person to tell me the salvation plan in a trap house, of course I didn't want any part of that. I was only 16 and didn't have time for God. ...

He still lives in the area and speaks all over the world.
